Relasi Israel dan Gereja
Sebuah Tinjauan Biblis-Teologis Berdasarkan Roma 9-11
Abstrak
Relasi Israel dan gereja secara umum dilihat dalam dua kutub yang berseberangan. Di kutub pertama pandangan Parentesis mempertahankan perbedaan keduanya. Di kutub lainnya pandangan Covenantalis melihat kesatuan keduanya. Tesis utama artikel ini adalah adanya relasi antara Israel dan gereja, yaitu bahwa pada akhirnya hanya ada satu Israel atau hanya satu gereja yang diselamatkan. Hal itu dibuktikan melalui elaborasi Roma 9-11. Rasul Paulus menganalogikan kesatuan Israel dan gereja dengan adonan dan pohon zaitun. Pada akhirnya, pohon zaitun tersebut terdiri dari tunas liar yang dicangkokan (bukan Israel) dan tunas asli (‘seluruh Israel’ yang tegar) yang dicangkokan kembali. Dari uraian tersebut, di bagian akhir artikel ini, penulis memaparkan aplikasi relasi antara Israel dengan gereja terhadap beberapa doktrin Kristen lainnya, seperti: Kristologi, Soteriologi, Eklesiologi, Eskatologi, serta dalam kehidupan praktis orang Kristen.
