Pendidikan Kristiani Transformatif dalam Konteks Indonesia
Sintesis Pemikiran Wesley, Freire, dan Christiani
Abstrak
Penelitian ini membahas pengembangan pendidikan Kristiani transformatif dalam konteks Pendidikan Methodist di Indonesia. Pendidikan Kristiani transformatif bertujuan untuk membentuk iman pribadi sekaligus mendorong transformasi sosial, dengan mempertimbangkan konteks multireligius di Indonesia. John Wesley menekankan pendidikan berbasis moral untuk transformasi individu dan masyarakat. Paulo Freire menggarisbawahi pentingnya penyadaran (konsientisasi) melalui pendidikan pembebasan. Tabita Christiani mengembangkan pendekatan pendidikan perdamaian yang relevan dengan keberagaman agama di Indonesia. Studi ini menganalisis pendekatan pendidikan ketiga tokoh tersebut untuk merumuskan model pendidikan Kristiani transformatif di SMA Methodist 1 Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis konseptual-komparatif terhadap pemikiran John Wesley, Paulo Freire dan Tabita Christiani, serta studi kasus di SMA Methodist 1 Medan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan transformatif tidak hanya mentransfer pengetahuan, tetapi juga membentuk karakter dan nilai-nilai Kristiani yang relevan dengan tantangan sosial saat ini. Model ini diharapkan mampu memberdayakan individu untuk berkontribusi aktif dalam transformasi masyarakat menuju keadilan dan perdamaian.
