Memahami Misi Gereja dari Pembacaan Teologis Yesaya 54:2-3
Abstract
Nubuatan mengenai akan berkembangnya umat Tuhan dalam Yesaya 54:2-3 sering dijadikan dasar dalam pelayanan misi. Meskipun demikian, cara membaca teks yang tidak tepat dapat membuat seseorang (bahkan sebuah gereja/denominasi gereja) membangun pemahaman misi yang walaupun kelihatannya benar namun ternyata tidak didasarkan atas teks yang tepat. Itulah sebabnya tulisan ini berupaya untuk meneliti bagaimana Yesaya 54:2-3 harus dipahami saat teks tersebut dibaca dalam pendekatan historical redemptive reading. Penulis memilih menggunakan pendekatan tersebut sebab model pembacaan teks ini akan menolong seseorang/gereja untuk melihat Yesaya 54:2-3 bukan hanya berdasarkan konteks historisnya, namun juga dalam konteks tradisi iman. Model penafsiran ini mampu menolong orang-orang Kristen memahami dengan lebih baik kaitan antara misi Allah, misi gereja dan nubuat pemulihan umat Tuhan dalam Yesaya 54:2-3.
