Menuju Dialog Antar Agama-Agama di Indonesia
Abstract
Sifat kemajemukan bangsa Indonesia merupakan salah satu kekayaaan bangsa yang harus disukuri. Tetapi di lain pihak kemajemukan sering hanya dilihat sebagai suatu perbedaan yang oleh sebagian pihak dianggap sebagai sesuatu yang mengganggu, karenanya perlu “diseragamkan” keberadaannya, termasuk soal keyakinan. Itulah yang menjadi penyebab terjadinya konflik agama di Indonesia—dan ini merupakan penyebab konflik terbesar—yang terjadi, salah satunya karena keberbedaan tadi, di mana ada yang merasa bahwa agamanya yang paling benar dan menganggap agama yang lain adalah agama yang salah, kafir. Merasa bahwa agamanya lebih superior dan menganggap agama yang lain adalah inferior; sehingga memandang rendah agama ataupun kepercayaan agama lain. Anti terhadap pluralisme di Indonesia, bahkan ini dianggap sebagai sesuatu yang sesat. Inilah sifat eksklusivisme, yang menyebabkan intoleransi, kekacauan dan peperangan yang seharusnya tidak perlu terjadi.
