Kepemimpinan yang Efektif dalam Gereja Presbiterian
Membawa Kembali Warisan Pemikiran Paulus & Calvin Ke Dalam Dunia Modern
Abstract
Sistem kepemimpinan dalam gereja presbyterian bersifat collective-leaders; sistem kepemimpinan ini berakar dalam pengajaran Alkitab dan pemikiran John Calvin mengenai penatua. Warisan pemikiran Alkitab dan John Calvin mengenai penatua seharusnya menjadi pegangan bagi gereja presbyterian dalam membangun sistem kepemimpinan dan pelayanannya. Dua fungsi dari penatua yakni sebagai pengajar dan penjaga kesucian gereja dan fungsi dari diaken sebagai pemerhati dari orang-orang miskin dan sakit haruslah kembali ditekankan dan diterapkan secara konsisten dalam kepemimpinan dan pelayanan gereja presbyterian. Gereja presbyterian harus berani keluar dari kepemimpinan dan pelayanan yang bersifat administratif kepada kepemimpinan dan pelayanan yang berorientasi pada manusia. Dengan jalan inilah maka gereja presbyterian akan dapat membangun kepemimpinan dan pelayan yangalkitabiah dan efektif.
