Hakikat dan Tujuan Sekolah Kristen
Abstract
Sekolah Kristen adalah bagian dari pendidikan Kristen sebagai mitra dari keluarga dan gereja untuk memenuhi panggilan Allah bagi setiap orang percaya.Pada dasarnya landasan dari sekolah Kristen adalah iman Kristen yang dinyatakan dalam Alkitab.Dengan demikian, sekolah Kristen mengupayakan pendidikan secara bersengaja dan terencana dengan baik, sehingga peserta didik mengalami perubahan dalam hal pengetahuan, sikap, nilai-nilai, keterampilan dan hidup bermasyarakat dengan hidup sesuai kehendak Allah. Tujuan utama sekolah Kristen adalah membawa peserta didik mengenal Allah di dalam Pribadi Yesus Kristus, tunduk di bawah otoritas-Nya dan hidup sesuai kehendak-Nya untuk kemuliaan Allah. Ciri khas sekolah Kristen adalah melaksanakan tugas dan fungsinya dengan menekankan nilai-nilai iman Kristen untuk mewarnai proses belajar-mengajar, sehingga dalam setiap materi yang disampaikan dan dalam komunitas sekolah Kristen, nilai-nilai tersebut menjadi nyata. Hal ini yang tidak dimiliki oleh sekolah-sekolah bukan Kristen.
