Penolakan Pascamodernisme terhadap Metanarasi dan Dampaknya terhadap Penginjilan
Abstract
Tulisan ini mengkaji penolakan pascamodernisme terhadap metanarasi modern yang dianggap menjadi alat untuk menindas. Metanarasi modern terletak pada pemutlakan kemampuan rasio untuk mencari dan menemukan kebenaran universal. Kemampuan rasio ini terwujud dalam metode sains ilmiah. Penolakan terhadap Pascamodern terhadap metanarasi sangat tepat diterapkan terhadap sains, bahwa manusia dapat hidup baik tanpa mitos kemajuan sains yang diagungkan oleh modernisme. Pascamodern menerima hal-hal yang seperti supranatural tetapi tanpa asumsi bahwa adanya suatu narasi yang lebih unggul yang dapat menilai narasi-narasi yang lain. Dengan pandangan ini jelas berdampak pada penolakan Pascamodern terhadap Yesus Kristus yang adalah inti berita Injil. Sebenarnya Injil adalah penyataan Allah yang khusus untuk keselamatan manusia berdosa, sehingga Injil bukanlah sebatas metanarasi yang dipikirkan oleh modernisme dan yang ditolak oleh pascamodern. Injil adalah karya Allah yang membebaskan bukan menindas manusia dengan segala keberadaannya. Jadi berita Injil masih tetap mendapat kesempatan untuk dihadirkan pada orang-orang yang hidup pada era pascamodern ini.
