Trinitas dalam pandangan Agustinus dari Hippo
Abstract
Tujuan artikel ini adalah mendeskripsikan pemahaman Agustinus dari Hippo mengenai Trinitas sebagai sebuah kontribusi teologis bagi para akademisi dalam menggali doktrin Trinitas. Pandangan Agustinus di kemudian hari sangat mempengaruhi banyak teolog mengenai Trinitas. Agustinus memiliki ciri khas sendiri dalam melihat Trinitas juga menggunakan metode khusus dalam upaya menjelaskan tentang Trinitas, salah satunya adalah analogi psikologikal. Meskipun tidak sempurna dan banyak dikritik, tetapi sumbangsih metode Agustinus dalam upaya memahami Trinitas tetap dapat diapresiasi. Artikel ini menggunakan metode analisis konten sehingga berfokus pada literatur yang ditulis oleh Agustinus serta didukung oleh tulisan-tulisan lain yang kredibel dalam melihat pandangan Agustinus mengenai Trinitas. Agustinus melihat Trinitas adalah Allah, satu yakni Allah Bapa, Anak, dan Roh Kudus. Ia adalah The Origin dan The Creator, dan untuk sampai pada titik “sedikit” mengerti dan memahami tentang Trinitas, maka manusia memerlukan kasih yang lahir dari iman, sebab iman yang menuntun pengetahuan, khususnya pengetahuan tentang Trinitas.
