Nilai-Nilai Kristiani dan Pendekatan Terhadap Lingkungan Hidup Berkelanjutan
Abstract
Sumberdaya alam mempunyai dua fungsi yaitu fungsi ekonomi dan fungsi penopang alam semesta. Yang dimaksud dengan fungsi ekonomi adalah fungsi penopang kesejahteraan hidup manusia untuk mempertahankan kelangsungan hidupnya di bumi, sedangkan yang dimaksud fungsi penopang alam semesta adalah bahwa seluruh ciptaan alam semesta baik manusia, makhluk lain dan ciptaan lain yang bukan makhluk hidup (tanah, air, batu, udara, dan sebagainya) mempunyai keterkaitan dan saling ketergantungan sehingga harus hidup selaras dan harmaonis. Fakta perjalanan kehidupan manusia dan ciptaan lainnya di bumi sampai saat ini menunjukkan keadaan yang sebaliknya. Kerusakan atau penurunan kualiatas kehidupan manusia dan lingkungan terus berlangsung dan dampaknya sudah dapat dirasakan oleh berbagai ciptaan. Perubahan iklim, degradasi tanah, menurunnya kualitas air, punahnya beberapa spesies, menurunnya produksi, timbulnya berbagai penyakit, kemiskinan, dan sebagainya merupakan bukti-bukti adanya ketidakseimbangan pengelolaan sumberdaya alam. Dalam usaha untuk mempertahankan kelangsungan hidupnya, kedua fungsi sumberdaya alam tersebut tidak berjalan seimbang, fungsi ekonomi lebih diutamakan.
